A method is an approach, a game plan, a map, that describes
how actions or processes will achieve a specific performance
target. Methods are the "how" and processes are the
"what". Methods are based on theoretical knowledge,
without which, we cannot make rational predictions about how
our actions will produce some end. Often, company's are
clear about their improvement objectives, but do not develop
effective methods to get there. This is like trying to
build something without a blueprint. An effective method
is repeatable and consistently delivers the intended results.
Our knowledge solutions are based on a method we call
"Knowledge to Results". After training, we collaborate
with employees to develop a direction (vision) through
assessment. The next step is to assist in the
development of specific method tools to guide the improvement
effort. Our role during this period is that of
facilitator, advisor, and coach. The idea is to promote
a cycle of continuous improvement within the company that is
not dependent on outside help. Once this has been
accomplished, our work is done.
